THÉÂTRE DES CHAMPS-ÉLYSÉES

15 AV Montaigne

Arts & Culture
Inaugurated in 1913, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées is one of the most illustrious monuments of the international cultural and musical scene in the heart of the 8th arrondissement of Paris.

This temple of the lyric and symphonic arts embodies both the architectural elegance of the Avenue Montaigne and the artistic avant-garde. A true masterpiece of Art Deco, the building designed by architect Auguste Perret stands out for its innovative lines, its famous bas-reliefs sculpted by Antoine Bourdelle and its decorations painted by Maurice Denis.

Since its creation, the venue has become a legend by hosting the first historical performance of Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring by Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, forever marking the history of modern music and dance.
